  1. Interesting. Not half bad given the slight price difference. I wouldn't go for the ftw however as it is a little outside my budget. Instead I would go for the SC version. Would this be good?
  2. I was wonder if a gigabyte g1 gaming gtx 970 will fit into a corsair carbine 240 with a corsair h100i installed in the front. Pictures would be appreciated as all I can tell is that the g1 fits but not the g1 gaming edition. Also I'm up for suggestions for good gtx 970 that will fit in this setup as I plan on doing sli in the future. Thanks
  3. As it turns out the g1 gtx 970 is only $15 than the msi. I may be now considering using that in my build instead.
  4. If I were to switch from the msi gtx 970 to a gigabit g1 gtx 970, would that still fit in the corsair carbide 240? I ask as after doing some digging, I much prefer to the and spacing (not to mention the cable management) of the 240 over the 804.
  5. would the node still fit an h100i in the front? also hows the cooling of this case? i do like it and you are right, it isn't half bad.... might change to that upon further inquiries.
  6. at then end of the day, i am considering the G1 gtx 970, i am just concerned about doing an sli down the road and the cooling
  7. the card fits if i remove the window panel and put it on the outside. In the end, its 25$ cheaper than the g1 which i would have gone for .... but i do like the design of the card
  8. Hello fellow enthusiast. I am in the process of building a new gaming pc from scratch for myself. That being said, i have selected all the components that i want and am asking for the community to give me nay feedback if needed. I know the i7 4790k is a little overkill along with the 850w PSU, however this is due to the desire to allow for upgradability in the future (along with the ram of course). As for the corsair carbide 240 and the MSI GTX 970, i am aware that the case does not allow it to fit exactly, however given the deal of it being under $400.00 Canadian, i am willing to mod the case with the window on the outside to keep the build in the red/black theme i am going for. That being said, let me know what you all think. 9. you are correct in assuming the sli. i figure in a few months id add in the card hence the overkill on the psu. I will take into consideration the h100i.
  10. gaming, media, video editing, work... pretty much i just want something that can literally handle anything i throw at it. i know its a little overkill but i figure i should treat myself
  11. I recently built a micro ATX gaming rig for my brother and it's amazing. I was contemplating building myself one and was wondering whether the community could give me some feedback. that being said, i am attached to running intel and the case i chose is something i really like. Please feel free to comment on the components. 12. At this point any advice at all mind you I wouldn't mind also knowing for my knowledge what was wrong with my original build. Or is it simply the reliability of the component. . As the post states it has been a while and I wouldn't mind obtaining additional knowledge and understanding as I am also planning on treating myself to a new rig in the fall. Thanks again for all the feedback. Mice to know there are still some parts of the Internet that are old school genuine and not troll bate
  13. Furthermore he is rather attached to the case chosen. Or at least bitfenix in general. And I'm finding it hard to change his mind onto a different.... Astetically pleasing case
  14. To answer more questions in in Toronto Ontario Canada and the reasoning behind the i7 is future upgradability compatability. Basically as parents are bankrolling his build it allows him to up the other components in a years time if he chooses without having to complicate things with a new cpu and motherboard
