  1. I want a good 144hz 1080p monitor and I'm seeing two different ones with very different prices. There's the BenQ XL2430T (Amazon), which goes for $340 And theres the Asus VG248QE (Amazon), which goes for $250. Both are 144hz 1ms 1080p monitors but one is more expensive. What's the difference between the two and which one should I get? You can even suggest a completely different monitor.
  2. Thanks for the advice, might get the 750 GQ
  3. PCPartPicker The one I'm using now is from an old build that I will be re-using.
  4. Yeah I've noticed on nowinstock.net that MSI is the only manufacturer that is managing the heavy demand pretty well.
  5. I know supply has been borderline decent in countries such as the UK, but at least for me in the US, GTX 1080 demand is really high and supply has been really low. I back-ordered an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW on Newegg about 2.5 weeks ago and still no inventory. I contacted EVGA on its stock and they said they're making shipments about once a week. I'm just wondering if anyone in NA has been able to get their hands on a board partner card yet that's not an FE.
  6. As an Electrical Engineering student this really peaks my interest
  7. I just pre-order an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW on Newegg and I've always been curious how common coil whine is. I guess you can say it's me being paranoid but I'm still wondering how it works and if there's ways to fix it. (research I've already done hasn't helped too much).
  8. I have an old PC build that I'm gonna get rid of. It currently has one SSD for the boot drive and a 1TB WD Blue HDD for storage. I will be getting rid of the SSD boot drive and use a better new SSD(850 EVO) instead as the boot drive. However, I still want to use my WD Blue drive as a secondary for storage. I've been told that one would need to initialize a new disk drive when you add it to your system. Does the same apply if it isn't new and already has files on it? I need to know so I know whether or not I will need to format the drive.
  9. I'm making a new build soon and I'm planning on using the i7 6700k with the ASUS Z170-A and I was wondering if they will work upon finishing the build. What I mean is will the BIOS version that is on the Z170-A out the box support the 6700k?
  10. Meant to say 2. As long as I can put the fans on the roof it's all good. Thanks!
  11. I'm thinking of getting the Enthoo Pro for my next build but I just have once thing I need to be confirmed. The top panel can be removed(obviously) and I saw in Linus video when he was disassembling it, when the camera showed the top panel removed, it didn't look like it had enough height space for a fan. I plan on using a 280mm CPU cooler radiator but placing it inside the case/under the top panel, but I plan on placing the fans on top of the radiator, underneath the top panel lid. Does the Enthoo Pro have enough height space underneath the top panel lid to hold two to three 140mm fans?
  12. With the amount of rendering power you are going to need, I'd highly recommend i7. The new 6800k, 6900k, etc. i7 CPUs launched literally two days ago if you're focusing on gaming(6700k if you're on a budget). My personal recommendation is an i7 5820k or higher to help with the multicore rendering you'll be doing
  13. If you primarily play CSGO then I wouldn't recommend such a powerful card like a GTX 1080, maybe not even a 980 That is unless you are running a 2k/4k monitor and want to run it at ultra settings, then that's a different story, but lower cards can still give you 60+ fps
  14. I wouldn't recommend using a 2016 GPU with a 2008 CPU. The 8 year difference makes me think it would bottleneck, but take someone else's word for it who knows about both the i7-920
