  1. Nvm, she had just plugged in two cables into the monitor and the gpu thought it was two monitors
  2. Hi there, on my girlfriends pc a few days a problem showed up that we could not yet solve. Her BenQ XL24IIZ is recognized by windows as a monitor with a maximum resolution of 3840x1080, which is of course twice its normal size. For some reason windows keeps switching to that resolution. We dont think its a monitor problem but rather something with her AMD GPU, since it occured since she updated Catalyst to Amd Settings. However, we cannot find any option like Nvidias DSR for example. Could you help us out? Thanks in advance!
  3. What CPU would I need to bottleneck as little as possible on 1080p?
  4. Yet in the real world to me it seems like I always get the same performance as my mate with his 970. Any ideas what that might be? We got the same CPU, i5 4690k (mine is overclocked) and 8GB RAM.
  5. Hi there, so first of all, while looking through benchmarks for my possible upgrade I took a look at my graphics card and noticed that the lower one of my two 780 had a little pink light on. I have no idea what it is and would like to know if someone knows what it is. Also, I was thinking about switching my 780s for one 1060, because I usually get about the same performance as my friends with their 970s and the 1060 outperforms the 970 and wouldnt cost me much to upgrade, plus I would get rid of SLI which I grown to dislike due to various bugs with it. Now, while looking on the internet I found conflicting benchmarks concerning the 780 SLIs performance, but usually these benchmarks get more than I do. So I figured I would ask this community as I trust it. Would that switch make sense? Or is something wrong with my setup and Im somehow getting not the performance I should be getting? Thank you for your help in advance!
  6. Hi there, I got a question about my Graphics cards. about two years ago I built a rig with one GTX 780 SC from EVGA, and about a year ago, I upgraded and got another 780 SC from EVGA. Now, I noticed that my old card is running about 10° hotter than the old one even tho its clock speed is slightly lower. I tried to improove that by getting rid of the dust in the card but it didnt really help, I guess the thermal compound just kinda broke down over the time. Just now however, I turned on GPU-Z and noticed that the cards got different BIOS versions, old card got 80.80.45.00.80 (P2083-0021), new card got 80.10.3A.00.80(P2083-0020). Now my question(s): How are the chances that the temperature increase are caused by a broken thermal compound after 2 years? And do the different BIOS versions affect the performance of the cards? I noticed the new card running on a higher clock speed, is that because it got a newer BIOS? If it does affect performance, can I upgrade my old cards BIOS? And if yes, how? Lots of thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and answer me!
  7. GPU temperature hardly go up to 50°. I'm using a Coolermaster Nepton 280L Liquid Cooler. Indeed, I have a Z97 board. However, I'd rather not overclock since I honestly never did it and fear shortening my CPUs lifespan.
  8. @Mateyyy Two GTX 780s in SLI @Deserter15: PS2 got a FPS counter wich shows weather the CPU or the GPU isn't keeping up. Since it's a very CPU intensive game, it's almost always the CPU.
  9. Today I played some Planetside 2 on my new PC, featuring an i5 4690k, and it ran without any issues for about 1-2h, then I got a massive FPS drop. When I checked Intel Tuning Utility I noticed that the CPU utilization went down to about 20-50% about the same time I lost half my FPS. It's not overclocked, nothing else than Steam, TS, EVGA Precision and the Intel Utility running in the background. Energy Settings were at High Performance. Any ideas why the utilization went down? Thanks in advance!
  10. Thanks for all the replies! So, my CPU's fine, I'll be fine with three monitors and two 780s and the 650 only if I have spare money. What about a motherboard, any suggestions?
  11. Hi guys, I got a pretty nice rig with an i5 4570 and a GTX 780 and I saved up some money to add another 780 to run em in SLI and then play on three monitors. Now I got some questions and I hope you guys can help me out! Is my CPU good enough to feed two 780s? Is it possible to run three monitors with two graphics cards, and are there downsides? Can you recommend a Motherboard for me? If I were to get a GTX 650 to run PhysX on, does it have to be in the SLI config?? Thanks in advance for answering my questions!
