Alright thanks guys, I'll be getting the 1080ti.
-
I wouldn't be using it for video rendering, purely for gaming.

Hey guys, I'm kinda stuck. I was going to be buying the new Vega 64, but now that it's out I find its performance quite lack luster. I'm a little bit uncertain seeing as the performance of the card could improve with drivers, but knowing how much/little it can improve by is difficult. With all that in mind which graphics card would you recommend? Which card would give me the most future proofing?

Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x Fan crackling noise

Kind of what i wanted to avoid, but if it's for the best. Just wished AMD would have released Vega cards already, might just sell my other r9 290 and purchase an Amd Fuy while waiting for Vega cards to come out. -

So you'd recommend to send it back? -

Is it dangerous for the card? -
I have a noise issue coming from the fans on my gpu, primarily i just want to know if this can damage my graphics card long term. The noise it self is kind of hard to explain, the video below is pretty similar to the noise i hear from my gpu fan, just that my graphics card is louder. The noise can be heard from 50% fan speed and above, become louder the faster the fan spins. I think i can still RMA it, all though i'd rather not, seeing as the place where i bought it doesn't sell it anoymore, which would render my other r9 290 useless. ( because it isnt powerful enought to keep up with the games i play at 1440p alone)

Last question, how big is the difference between TN and IPS? Seeing as i've only ever had a TN panel.

I don't know what people are willing to pay for it, I'd put it out for 4500kr, and see if people would be interested. Norwegian kroners for reference.

Depends, there isn't one listed where i usually sell stuff, but guessing around. 4500kr (519 us dollars) maybe a little less, new monitor cost 5790kr (668 us dollars).

I was wondering if it is worth "upgrading" from an Asus mg278q to Asus mg279q. I know that the difference is minimal, better colors and more response time. The only thing holding me back is my concern about the increase in response time and if changing from a TN panel to an IPS panel is worth the price. Now the money side of this is isn't that big of a deal, seeing as I'll just sell my current monitor and use the money from that towards this new monitor. Sorry if this seems convoluted, and incoherent, I'm extremely tired and my mind is all over the place. Thanks

Thanks it does look like that worked, I was previously using the amd frame rate target control, guessing that caused it.
