I got the G1 Gaming 980 on the same MB and in my meaning it looks great. But since you seem to wanna go with the full red-black theme i would took the MSI. Performancewise it shoulndt be that big of a diffrence (you can OC the hell out of either of them).

i would think about using somthing other than the stock cooler. for und 50$ you can get lower noise and cooler temps. Think about Enthoo Pro.

EVGA superclocks will be fine as they are a reference PCB, also as far as im aware EVGA will still honour warranty's even after a block is fitted.
As for waiting for new cards, i dont think so since atleast at launch i highly doubt they will be cheaper than current stuff even the 780ti, and as far as performance im running at 4790K and single 780ti superclock for my lanbox and I also plan to get the asus swift, I tested BF on my 30" dell and it still holds over 150fps with the right settings and some mild overclocks. So 2 of them will make short work.
