012--5--LED--Layout--Plan.jpg

After struggling with the eyesore of 3 different "white" LED strips in my rig, all casting different hues of warm and cool light, I decided to replace the whole lot of them with Corsair strips which would run on my Commander Mini.

Turns out there are subtle differences between those strips as well, at least when they cast white light at full intensity. I ran them on an external power supply to determine the actual amperage draw. Each strip is rated to .18A however they actually draw slightly less. Still, I wanted to ensure my total LED draw was less than the 2A limit. It was below the limit before and I still had a failure which caused the green channel to remain on all the time. Very annoying. This sparked the entire rebuild.
