Start of project and the headache that ensued...

I was goofing about and found that there's a non official version of android for x86 platforms. I decided that it would be an interesting idea to try to get 4.4.2 Kit Kat running on an old Toshiba laptop i have just lying around. First things first, we need to download the iso, so I did. I then tried about 10 times to get it in a bootable state on my USB drive so that my laptop would recognize it. Windows 8 hates me and doesn't like to format drives to FAT32... Anyway, i finally got it working and much to my dismay, the harddrive in the laptop is not detected. I decided to try the live-boot options available and they didn't work either. I decided then that it was time to be scientific and go to my control platform(a computer i know works properly) and test it. I didn't want to get rid of my windows partition and i have no other drives in my PC at the moment, so i live-booted and it ran well enough to warrant me continuing the venture. Setup was simple enough, but i couldn't use internet of any sort. I tried ethernet and wifi and i got nothing. I'm not sure what the problem is or how to solve it, but i'll figure it out when i continue working with it tomorrow.

If you want to try this yourself, here's the website
