  1. I ran the Arma 3 YAAB benchmark on basically default ultra and my average FPS was ~52 and 1% low was ~37 and max was ~80 if my memory serves me correctly. Interesting enough I had no fan ramp up whilst running the Benchmark, temps stays around 46-49C. It was after it was completed where the temps suddenly rose sharply to ~60C and the fans put on their afterburners. Framerate in the menu was ~280fps.
  2. Hello everyone, I recently purchased a custom built PC from Canada Computers and got it up and running today. Everything seemed fine and no issues hardware wise. However, I am having an issue with the Gigabyte graphics card which I spec'd for the built because of a fan issue where under light to medium load the fans will go from essentially idle RPM immediately to an incredibly high (~100%) RPM somewhere in the 50-60C range. I have read up everywhere I can about this issue and I can only conclude that it is a firmware problem that is fixed with a newer BIOS version (perhaps?). I can supply any supplemental info needed if it helps diagnose the problem with the card. However, seeing as I bought the card with a direct replacement plan and its still within store and manufacturer warranty, should I send the card back to CC to have them try to update the card and solve the issue or get a refund and buy the MSI 2070S (30$ more) or the ASUS RTX 2070S EVO OC (50$) and just pay the difference? Much appreciated thanks for any help you may be able to offer. FWIW I have heard the 'clicking sound' from the weird fan issue too, just once, and I shut the computer down immediately because I was unsure of the cause initally. For the moment it is running fine but as soon as I boot a game up the fans go ape.
  3. Can you give some more explanation to what you said? im not well versed on this part of computer shenanigans
  4. I have a 240gb ssd and my hd is about 734gb full out of 1862gb.
  5. So I just received an early christmas present from a family member for an ssd i have wanted for a long time. It is properly installed and is recognized in Disk Management. I am running windows 8.1. I want to install my win8.1 onto this ssd to use as my boot drive. I booted the windows install disc from a cd-rom drive and started the setup. I was perplexed when no prompt to choose which drive I wanted to install to came up. Do i need to do this from Bios or can I do it when logged in.
  6. The Motherboard is garbage like 100$ I think I need an upgrade because the fx8320 doesnt seem to be able to handle my r9 either. Since all of the games i play dont support 8 cores (except bf4 which i play very rarely) i may as well get a new CPU aswell?
  7. MY usage results: Empty Server CPU Cores 1-8: all at between 40-75% load GPU: 40-50% load at 70 degrees (celsius) Ram: 11527 avg usage FPS: 200-260 This is basically best care scenario except that my computer is running the server
  8. So you are saying that i should cap my fps? at like 175?
  9. Those launch settings i already have. If getting an intel cpu would fix most of these problems, not bottleneck and run cooler would it be viable to get a new one? this is also a 2 year old cpu while this r9 is just over a year old.
  10. Im using the standard one, i didnt think an aftermarket one was necessary. GPU clocks CORE: 1040MHz MEM: 1250MHz CPU: 3500MHz
  11. 3500MHz for the CPU Keep in mind i run at almost half the res, on all low settings.
  12. So this is my setup: http://pastebin.com/BfLpmqNH My ingame settings: http://pastebin.com/jUjZ3wur However i cant get it to keep a steady 150-200FPS on any map. I have disabled cool n quiet in BIOS I have RadeonPro with max prerendered frames set to 0 I run CSGO, Steam, skype, and occasionally chrome/itunes in the background I need this to hit 144 fps at all times or my monitor isnt wasnt worth buying :\ Any feedback is appreciated thanks
  13. This could be under the wrong category but so be it Anywho, I have been using Sony Vegas 12 pro for a while now and really like it! It's efficient and streamlined for basic editing, but can also be very useful for complex stuff. But my problem is the preview screen lag. It has been like this since i got it but only now asked why. My Specs: AMD FX-8320 OC @ 4.2 AMD Radeon R9 290 Gigabyte windforce X3 edition 16 Gb GSkill RAM @ 1334Mhz I have seen people with less ram and worse processors preview with no lag. Any suggestions? Thanks, Daze.
