  1. The monitor no longer detects the computer. It says so and then goes to sleep
  2. Yes. Like I said, it worked before. I checked the computer specs when it was working to make sure it was detecting the GPU too. I feel like it was probably a RAM malfunction because of the added RAM and I should have cleared the BIOS but didn't. Then, I dont know what happened, it just went crazy. Now, Im not sure what it is. Also, I slightly dented the battery holder putting it back in
  3. I am a novice and huge beginner. I bought a prebuilt PC without a graphics card. I bought and installed a video graphics card. I added a half GB of RAM from an old Dell to the 2nd RAM slot, turned on the computer a few times (before I had a working DVI adapter) and decided this might mess up the computer, so I took it out. Then I got the adapter in the mail and used it and the computers been working fine. The last time I started it, yesterday, the BIOS set up screen appeared. I just hit save and exit and went on my day. I used the computer for several hours and it was fine.Today, I started it and the fans started and stopped repeatedly and the monitor wasn't detecting anything. I turned it off. I did some research online and decided to remove the motherboard battery for 10 minutes with the power off. It was a vertical battery standing straight up. I forgot to check which way was plus or minus. I put the battery back in. I turned on the computer and theres a red light thats shining on the motherboard now, the fans work, but the monitor won't detect anything. I thought maybe it was in the wrong way so I tried it the other way. Same red light. Pic: http://i.imgur.com/bZBoucT.jpg The monitor is brand new and works fine so it's not the monitor. The rest of the night has been me looking up stuff online to no avail. Most of it is too complicated for me to understand. Im scared maybe I damaged the battery. Other things I've tried: making sure the RAM is firmly in. Switching RAM slots. Switching back. Plugging and unplugging power into motherboard
  4. Ah I didnt know about the motherboard thing. I already bought it unfortunately. I have an old PC. Im going to try and take the RAM from that and add it to this. Money is tight so I think I'll just use this for now until I see signs that I will need an SSD (what signs would be though? just lag?)
  5. So I just bought most of a gaming pc off craigslist. It has everything but a GPU, which I have just bought (an xfx Radeon R7 260x). Im fairly new to this so I am not the best at identifying or working with parts. I have some quick questions I need help with: -when I bought it the case looked really small. See pictures. It's smaller than a normal computer case I am used to. He said it's a EVGA Hadron Air case. Is this going to be a problem? http://imgur.com/a/8RBpd -What is the device that is attached to the computer coming out? -how can I verify the parts are what he claims them to be? Im scared I will short circuit or break something. -Below are the listed parts. Will this do for League of Legends? I want to play it frequently, record it, have multiple tabs on chrome open at same time. I also do some decent video editting which is mainly just stitching together numerous clips of vlogs through Sony Vegas. I have done my own research beforehand and my analysis is that it is probably overkill. I could have bought the same thing $100 cheaper with a g3258 processor but I thought maybe the extra CPU power may be of use if I wanted to play heavier games or better for video editting. What do you guys think? Money is a bit tight so maybe I shouldn't have done that? - Intel i5-4590 CPU (4 cores, 3.3-3.7 GHz) - ASUS Z97I-PLUS mini-ITX motherboard -intel stock cooler - 1x8 GB G.Skill 1866 MHz RAM (overclocked to 2133 MHz if you'd like) - 500 GB WD Green hard drive - EVGA Hadron Air case with a 500W 80+ Gold rated PS -Will I have to do something different to install the GPU into this smaller case?
  6. I want to render vlogs, stitch together multiple clips, edit videos, play League, stream smoothly. Which levels of each part do I need on logicalincrements? Im tight on cash but dont want to cheap out so hard it bites me in the butt
  7. I have at least one old Dell computer from a few years ago. I have no idea how to identify the parts and see if anything is usable. Any advice?
  8. I posted on r/buildapc I am a super novice with not much free time and not the smartest dude. I don't want to screw up building a pc and if it's too hard or complicated, I dont know if I want to. https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/3f7rcc/build_help_league_of_legends_gaming_pc_and_daily/ I got a lot of suggestions on there that kind of overwhelmed and confused me a bit. Also, here is yet another build parts list that looks nice but I really cant tell http://pcpartpicker.com/p/M3Xj7P
