Upgrade PSU now or upgrade it along side CPU (Waiting for Ryzen 3rd Gen)

Marfe

Good day!

So I just recently upgraded my GPU from GTX 1060 3GB to a RTX 2070 and i'm a bit concerned about my PSU.

Currently i'm using an Antec Neo Eco 650W 80+ Bronze (Full spec of my rig at my signature) for a good year now and I noticed that it has some noise (it's not that loud you can barely hear it a few feet away) when I stick my head right to the PSU area of the case.

I'm not sure if that noise is already there before I upgraded my GPU but I'm concerned about it. I'm afraid it might damage other components.

I'm not sure if I'm just paranoid that I'm still using an Entry level PSU from my first build. I'm planning to upgrade PSU when I upgrade my CPU (Waiting for Ryzen 3rd gen).

I ran FireStrike for about an hour and didn't saw any issues, artifact or whatever. The GPU even boosted up to 1965Mhz on stock settings.

Is that noise a bad thing and I need to upgrade my PSU or am i just paranoid?

I myself would have planned to upgrade PSU at the same time as GPU...

But the noise is still there even on idle.

I'm currently looking at Corsair's RMX 2018 and the price difference of RM750x and RM850x is like $3 here in Japan. Should I get the RM850x? Or the RM750x will be more efficient (efficiency curve wise)

550w units are already good enough, RMx are overkill by too much.

tier C or higher is already enough.
