Wondering what parts would fit me best

thesalman569

Hey everyone, so I have built my own computers about 3-4 years ago and back then I knew my computers but now with many different build options, I am confused. I made a pcpartpicker list and I was wondering if I could choose a batter option. My budget is $1000 and I will be doing gaming, bit editing and school work on the desktop.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XPp6xG

Thanks.

Any reason why you chose the ryzen 7 over the i5 9600k?

Ryzen 7x : 8 Cores -> 16 threads. 3.7 GHz, Free Heatsink ($50 value)

9600k : 6 Cores -> 6 threads. 3.70 GHz, No Heatsink

For games performance just about the same (as most games only utilized 4 cores)

But for productivity its a huge difference

2700x -> 1900 cinebench score

9600k -> 1200 cinebench score

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

Ryzen is much cheaper, without being slower than Coffee Lake noticeably in real world use.

6 core CPU should already be good enough, no need for 8 unless do streaming a lot.

a CPU cooler that lets you overclock without raising noise nearly as much as the stock cooler will

changed mobo according to CPU change, MSI B450 ATX boards have the best VRMs (power supply for the CPU specifically) among boards below $100.

Memory frequency affects Ryzen performance quite significantly, but of course that still needs to be balanced with the price.

Changed SSD and HDD for higher capacity per dollar, durability and performance should be close.

Most of the budget goes to a much punchier GPU. It's the most important component for a gaming rig.

Changed case for price problem, also 275R has slightly better airflow (at stock) than the H500

550w PSU is more than enough to power this system, modular cables for cable management.

More fans for better cooling.

haha not that much, Wraith Prism performs worse than the admittedly RGB-less $20 Deepcool Gammaxx 400, just slapping an RGB fan on the tower cooler will solve that problem.
