  • 10 months later...

I have messaged Asus about this i get nothing in reply.

Someone must have bios modded by now! So we can use what ever gpu we want.

like 8 random Nvidia rest Amd instead of the restriction of using 8x p106-90 /104-100 first, in order to fill the rest upto 19 slots with Amd cards.

Bitsbetrippin used 8x p106 first and managed to get up to 21 with a PCI-E expander. So the bios is adaptable to a degree.

There has to be micro code somewhere to lift the p106 restriction.

in theory you can run as much as 16+8 graphics cards on mining boards. but generally you wont run as much as 24 cards, but running more than 8 is quite common.

some mining boards, especially those were made by biostar, come many pci-e x1 connectors(as much as 12), so you would plug breakout boads on them, changing the interface to something like displayport cables and use them connect to actual graphics cards. mining is about using gpu to do maths, not processing massive amount of data, therefore you dont need that much bandwidth, pci-e x1 is all you need.

why everybody post the spec of their rig here? i dont! cuz its made of mashed potatoes!
