ASrock Taichi Z390 HELP D:

Jansi

My newly build PC worked fine about a week ago, but now when i installed a water cooler, it somehow broke all sata ports on the motherboard. The SSD worked fine before the install.

Specs for the PC is:

ASrock Taichi Z390

Intel i7-9700K

Asus ROG ryujin 360mm

16GB RAM

RTX 2080TI

850 watt powersupply

Samsung EVO 970 M.2 NVmE SSD 256GB (Works fine with Windows 10 Pro installed on it)

Samsung EVO 860 2,5 SSD 1TB (The trouble maker)

The water cooler has a small storage space for the picture/GIF it can display, could that somehow corrupt the SATA firmware?

I've tried all SATA ports on the motherboard, and i have tried with normal HDD's. I can both feel and hear the HDD spinning, but the BIOS does not detect anything on the SATA ports.

I've also tried looking around the BIOS aswell as the motherboard manual to see why this could happen, but can't find anything on it.

I know some SATA ports are disable when using the M.2 slot, but none of the 8 sata ports work. And i have tried going into BIOS without the M.2 installed, still nothing.

Side note: The SATA controller is enabled in the BIOS

A friend told me to update the BIOS, but does the BIOS really need an update because of a water cooler?

if you remove the cooler and the issue goes away it could have been sth like a mounting pressure issue

Mounting pressure? So if i losen it up a bit (Like half a turn) it might fix it?

Update: Used a SATA-USB3.0 adapter, HDD works fine but the SSD won't work at all, so neither SSD or HDD work over normal SATA but HDD works over USB

Althogh the HDD and a normal USB stick won't work at the same time... Even tho it's one on 3.0 and one on 2.0... I'm so lost...

if a hd is dead and plugged in it can cause funny stuff to happen, i just dealt with that lol. you can actually swap it for a 2nd m2 ssd to rid yourself of any sata cables :)

Well in my cabinet the SSD won't be on display, and the cable management isn't worth saving at this point
