What kind of motherboard and ram should I get for overclocking a 2700x?

I've heard Ryzen has some issues with RAM compatibility?

 

Also the motherboard needs to have a usb c port and an optical audio port, otherwise I don't really care about the i/o. And a single m.2 nvme slot but isn't that on all modern boards?

Ryzen 2700, 16GB, GTX 1080, 1440p165hz

The 1st gen Ryzen chips did have some issues with RAM, but it has all then been fixed with the 2nd gen ones. The higher the frequency of your RAM, the better for Ryzen. Also, most mid to higher-end will have USB-C ports, and just search for S/PDIF Out support for optical audio.

you can also just run it with XFR2 and not overclock.

Something like 120€, if not possible then the cheapest with all those features

Generally speaking, overclocking a 2700X isn't worth it unless you got a golden chip. The system will handle the auto-OC functions better than a flat All-Core OC.

 

Still, you're going to need one of the better B450 or X470 boards with strong VRMs. The better MSI boards seem to be the consensus choice for B450s.

get an B450 Tomahawk. its a very good board and should fit snuggly in the budget

I can't quite figure out if it has S/PDIF or not. Most of the listings have it, but it's not on MSI's website or in the manual. There are some boards with the a combo port for it, but not sure if that's one of them. (I was going to suggest the same.)

Has the features, but, man, is the VRM setup rough on that one. You would not want to OC the Gigabyte board.
