Is RTX 2080 strix safe from failng rtx cards

Hibiki33

Hi guys i need a opinion  im upgradin from my rx580 strix to a rtx 2080 strix and its the asus ones. The get me worried os due to rtx failures had is seen in forums and in youtube so  it got me worried even its aib card some will have issues too like the youtuber joker productions  and his gigabyte rtx 2070  and my fellow gamer friend has issue with his zotac rtx 2080 amp. So should i buy the rtx 2080,? If not should i get 1080 ti ?but the problem is in my country asus strix 1080ti is out of stock in every stores and they have only the ugly ones like the msi duke that doset any rgb and it will comprimise the aestetic of my asus theme build and the only thing left is the second hand market and its risky.

My system:

ASUS STRIX B450 F

RYZEN 2700X (USING STOCK COOLER)

RX 580 STRIX

16 GB TRIDENT Z RGB 2X8GB 3200MHZ

SUMSUNG 860 EVO 250 GB

4 TB SSHD SEGATE BARRACUDA

3X ID COOLING df12025

2X PHANTEKS 140SP WITH HALOS

PHANTEKS ENHOO PRO M SE

the only failing cards where the 2080 ti's
And from the 2080 ti's it was only the first batch of cards that had issues.
So you should be safe getting one.

Current build: Ryzen 7 1700x, asus prime x370-pro, 16gb gskill trident z rgb, asus rog strix gtx 1070 ti, corsair rm650x, nzxt s340 elite, samsung 840 pro 256gb, 1.5tb hdd.

the 2080 had problems too, the sales were just lower, i'd think the problems are solved by now, so don't overpay too much for the strix just for that, remember theres a hybrid model out at 880 atm already.

The problem if choose the blower style or the dual one i lose my rgb on my graphics card im been using strix because of the rgb  i have rx580 it dont let me down and  still strong  but its time to upgrade because i have enough money to buy a strix 2080. The original plan is to buy a 1080 ti but its almost outstock in our country and and last remaining msi , gigabyte so im going to buy 2080 instead and idont care if has RT i care only on fps and the aestetics of my pc

Fully agree'd, also asus has some great customer service through social media, atleast the do in the benelux ;).
and they just look so good :P.

So in my oppinion its worth the premium, also the cooling... the cooling is really good.

don't worry the chance of it failing is very small.
and if something goes wrong, asus customer support is great.
no matter what brand you get there is always a minuscule chance of failure

I mean asus mostly compensate their premium with their customer service. But evya does a great job too
