PC Build for Cuda Assisted Simulations

I'm in need of help for designing a "dream build" desktop that can handle some pretty lengthy simulations. The desktop would be for a physics department for a smaller to mid sized university. The current project the computer would be used for is running QCD simulations for 3-body interactions. Don't worry if that doesn't make sense, it doesn't for me either yet lol. However, the goal is to use the parallel computing capabilities of the Nvidia cards to speed up the simulations - which supposedly can take up to 10 days to run and handles multiple gigabytes of raw data. The hope is that this can be used by the physics department in the future for other research purposes. There are two budgets we would like to hit being either $5,000 or $10,000, since we would like to compare the capabilities of the machines at each price point to see which build would fit best for the university. Like I said I really have no idea on what hardware would be the best for this kind of application so any help would be appreciated.

Tbh for commercial stuff, i would just send a mail to guys like supermicro and puget systems and ask them what they can get you for that budget.

RTX does have the strongest CudA.

Why does a server need an SSD, though? But yes, RTX definitely has the strongest CUDA (8704 CUDA cores vs 5160)

I'm still learning the research for what this will be used for, however depending on how much data we are computing with using an SSD could significantly boost read/write performance for the application.

If an SSD helps with that, then go get one.

Yeah if this is something that the department would actually support I'm sure we would look for a custom build with the given budget. As of now this is more of initial research into the cost/performance of said machine and finding out how it could benefit the university outside of our research project.

If it'll be significantly intensive on data writing and reading and you feel go full SSD is justified (which I understand, the image board I mod derpibooru also gone full SSD on the main server for great improvements).

Then lots of things can be reconsider, the budget is really high I just don't know exactly how much multi and single threaded the applications are, cuda aside.

An alternative I also configured could be this but imagine it with two more of the 2080 ti's (four total). Cuda applications don't need to be in sli since they segment the workload and send that segment to each different device. Also parred down on the cpu as the gpu is the main focus for this device.
