Is Bittrex wallet safe?

I want to make a Bittrex crypto coin wallet however the verification requires me to send a picture of my ID. I feel a little unsettled about it. 

 

Can anyone vouch for this company?

 

I know coinbase follows a similar practice. However I have never made a wallet before.

No market wallet is completely secure. Always off load your cryto to a ledger not connected to the internet or a paper wallet.

 

Also, the ID thing is to verify your identity so that Bittrex or any coin market is not being used for money laundering and so that you can be taxed for any gains.

Start with the assumption that it isnt (not even a little bit), and take whatever other precautions you feel necessary.
