What should i upgrade first?

OMGITSAMACGAMER

So me and my friends recently starting our own mini game dev team and my job is the graphics and animations (and a little bit of coding). I'm wondering what would be the best upgrade from my current specs for the best performance increase. I've got:

-Pentium g4560

-8GB ddr4 2400mhz ram

-gt 1030

-120gb ssd

-1tb hdd

-640gb hdd

My budget would be around $200/250 (im in WA, Perth)

Thx

the most complex/hard to run thing i'd be running is blender. I'd just prefer have it be a bit smoother than it is now.

Well you could go with just a CPU, like a 6600K or 7600K, and a cheap-ish cooler for some overclocking (think hyper 212 kind). You'll get a little bit of hardware acceleration from the GT 1030. You could also try to find a used i3 for the extra threads, and then get something like a used GTX 970. I found an i3-7100 for $75 on craigslist and 970s typically go for $100-130. Or you could go solely for a GPU, and try to stretch for something like a used 1070. If you want to buy new, then you'd probably have to go for an RX 580 or something similar (only marginally better than a 970). I don't know if blender prefers NVIDIA or AMD GPUs though, you'd have to look that up.

Personally I'd go with the second, that way you have a more balanced system. But I'm not huge into graphic design and game development so I can't answer specifically what would be better for that. Google could help you there if you don't get a response from someone else here.
