Oh man I can't do 1440p or can I ?

Turtle Rig

Hey yall, Im not typing this from my studio, so I have to ask this boiling question right now as I wont be in for while is.  Can my video card do 1440p @ 60fps for Unreal Tournament Alpha and Quake Champions is all I play ...  I want sustained 60fps as I have vsync on.  Is it possible or do I need to upgrade to a 1080 plain version. sighs.. Thanks for your responses guys.

What is your GPU? It's kinda hard to know what your card can do if we don't even know what it is.

GTX 1060 6GB, it's on his signature.

You never know it could have been a different card, just wanted to be sure. But in one word to the OP, yes.

It's possible... Depends on if you need to have the graphics settings slid all the way to the right.

It'll do 1440p 60Hz, you'll just need reduced settings for constant 60fps.

I don't think it can either, depends on how much eye-candy you're after, I guess... It can do 1440@60, but definitely not on the highest settings.

You'll have to turn down some settings, but yeah you can.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ok will be back soon to report, this is on the Quake Champions engine and the Unreal Engine which fortnite and many games use.  Right now at 1080p and 130 scale resolution and everything to ultra is giving me 60fps sustained,, no matter what,,,, so 1440p will sustain is the question.  I dont want to see framerates in the 40's.  If you think from my setup Im gonna see 40's @ that resolution then fak it,, Ill stick wilth 1080p and heavy AA methods

Nah I got 2 hours till Im in the studio to test this out, but I think from consensus up top that a 1060 6GB can not do 1440p with ultra high settings and bunch of AA methods. I cant afford drops to 50's with these games I play.  It faks up the whole experience.  If I had a 1080 GTX then I know you can do a solid 1440p at high framerates, never a drop below 60 no matter what and with vsync off probably 150fps and what not.

Ok new developing info.  I got my brother to try it out hes at my place,, so he put it on 1440p resolution and he told me the framerate was cut in half it was 30fps , the part where it shows the character indroducing themselves was 60fps locked was 30fps @ 1440p ,, in game was 30fps ,,,,,,, lol so ya its all good, Im using soo many AA methods I dont see any jaggies with this card of mine where the 760 failed the 1060 6GB shines. for shure! Its all good Ill have to stick with 1080p gaming for now and the future.  I dont think Im going to pay 1500 bucks on a video card, thats absurd,.  Not that I dont have the money, its just absurd,, the CPU costs 380 that is the brain , the mobo is the foundation..... ya know....... would anyone here drop 1500 bucks on a CPU ?  case proven ya know.
