Which should i buy?Western Digital blue vs Seagate barracuda

I want to buy a 1 TB hdd. I saw that Western Digital Blue and Seagate Barracuda both are at same price. which 1TB hdd should i buy?

Ive been using Seagate drives for the last 10 or so years without any drive failures. Have had very good experiences with them personally.

WD used to be Maxxor and that was a terrible company. You'd buy a HDD and it would fail in 6 months. Then RMA would take a year. That RMAd drive would fail too.

Seagate produces good hard drives. I had Seagate Barracuda since 2014 and that HDD still works like new.

Simple, WD blues can come in two different speeds, baracudas are all the same and reliable. Also where I'm at the baracudas are a little cheaper.

Both are reliable and a good choice. 

 

The Barracudas are 7200RPM and the Blues are mostly 5600RPM. This would make the Barracuda a bit better for desktop use, but if you're putting it into a NAS or have lots of other HDDs, the lower RPM of the Blue can actually be a good thing. 

 

I'd say go for whichever is cheaper, if it's for normal desktop use.
