Upgrading Toshiba Satellite Pro A10

This laptop was released in 2003. I received this laptop a number of years ago and forgot the password for almost five years when it suddenly came back to me the other day. I use the case the laptop is in to store redundant components from other computers which got me thinking how could I upgrade this machine to its full potential?

 

Operating System: Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3

CPU: Intel Celeron 2.20Ghz (Northwood 0.13um Technology)

RAM: 512mb DDR@ 132MHz (2.5-3-36)

Motherboard: Toshiba Portable PC (uFC-PGA Socket)

BIOS Version: 1.30

Graphics: Intel Extreme 2 Graphics/ Intel 82852/82855

Storage: 27GB Toshiba MK3021GAS (ATA)

Wireless Card: Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG

Optical Drive: Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R2412

Audio: SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio

 

Higher end models came with a Pentium 4 M 2.2GHz but I am not sure if there are higher end Pentium 4s of the same socket. Max RAM is apparently 1GB according to Toshiba but not sure if anyone's pushed it further. It also has a PC Card slot but I'm not really sure what these were used for.

I wouldn't bother upgrading this, if you have no use for it then just scrap it.

I understand your concerns but I'm quite interested to see what it could do for nostalgic purposes plus I can probably find some use for it.

Look mate I know you want to use for nostalgia and stuff but looking at your main PC specs it looks good enough to run VM's. What I suggest you do is download Oracle Virtual Box and find a Windows XP iso, this will be faster and more sensible.
