They're not quite done for yet, but they don't have a bright future. A lot of people have disdain for Gamestop/EB Games because of their pushy sales tactics and their unremarkable prices. They really don't provide much value for their core audience. When the first generation arrives without the need for optical media, Gamestop/EB will be stuck. I don't know much about the EB Gamestop relationship, but Gamestop have been losing money and have been closing stores left, right and center.

People would have more incentive to shop and support a company like Gamespot if they were fond of the brand and what it means to the wider gaming community. But that isn't the case with Gamespot...most people are not fond of this company.
