Should I get a macbook air (last gen) for web development?

Okay, this is gonna be a long one. I am currently using a macbook pro 2017 non-touchbar edition.

And because of this unit had been sent to get fixed more than 4 times, apple agreed to swap me a brand new machine with same spec. And return the money I spent on apple care.

And I will be honest I am getting tired of fixing my machine for every couple of months. Does it make sense that I sell this machine, then get a lower end 2017 macbook air? The non retina one.

I just want a stable machine that works. (I will probably need to get used to the shitty display though. other than that I have no compliant.)

So what do you guys think.... @DrMacintosh

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

Sucks that your 2017 is giving you issues. My 2016 has been relatively good even though I have 2 outstanding repair programs I can use, lol.

But I mean the old Air is serviceable, and you can find them pretty cheap, but they are kinda shit for the money.

the previous MacBook Air is a 2015 I thinking they just kept making it till 2018 came out  its CPU is extremely underpowered. your better off with a used pro 2015 was the last year for the old style keyboard and it was still retina screen. the 2013 was the first year for retina but they had the screen delimitation issue in 2013 and the 2012 13" i5 is my personal laptop and still scores respectably in Geekbench  other than the compute score since its rocking the old 3210m cpu and the GPU is outdated other than that it runs really well and even Mojave works well on it.
