Valve being taste police despite promising not to

The visual novel game The Key To Home keeps getting blocked from being released on Steam. The first time it was blocked was because the developer was told that the game would attract an audience made up of pedophiles. The developer, Henteko Doujin, waited until after Valve instituted it’s new adult filters and then tried to submit the game again, however it was banned once more. The second time it was blocked the developer was told that the game contained sexually suggestive content featuring minors, even though the game was rated ‘T’ for Teen from the ESRB. Well, in a recent post on the Steam forums, the developer has suggested that there’s an employee at Valve who simply has it out for their game.

In an ongoing thread discussing the game, developer Henteko Doujin first explained that he informed Valve that The Key To Home was rated ‘T’ for Teen by the ESRB and does not contain any sexual content or nudity, but he stated that the thread on the developer forum where he attempted to address the issue with Valve was closed down.

In a separate post Henteko Doujin explained that usually their interactions with Valve was done with the same person who was sending out all the ban warnings that initiated the waifu holocaust back in May of 2018…

The war on the lolicons continues. This time the hardcore loli RPG from Celusis and Cellab has had its store page removed from Steam. It’s possible to still use other means to access the purchase page, but it no longer appears on the storefront in any capacity, and the entire store page has been removed from the community hub.

Maomao Discovery Team launched on November 13th, 2018 on the Steam store. The game managed to garner some decent sales before the store page was removed from Steam. This is despite the fact that the game is marked as “Adult Only” via Valve and can only be viewed from those with Steam accounts that have the filters set to see adult games on Steam.

The developers also included all of the necessary information about the game being an Adults Only RPG title, which centered around battling enemies in a labyrinth, and watching a loli pleasure herself or engaging in copulation with the loli named Maomao.

German developer Yume Creations recently announced that their game Imolicious has been banned from Steam for allegedly exploiting children. They shared an e-mail from Valve’s software product release manager, Jason Ruymen, who explained that the game would not be allowed on Steam because the platform does not host software that contains the exploitation of children.

It appears it might be just 2 rogue employees doing this.

Valve has obviously a right to not sell these as not everyone wants to be associated with taboo art, but they should say so outright. As for me, censorship of art is immoral and that is the hill I'm dying on.

Lolis are the canary in the coal mine.

This winner thinks a school girl is not a child!?

As far as I can see this anime stuff is mostly about sexualized school kids.

Pedophilia is more than just bad taste.

What really grinds my gears is this bizarre standard people have for two things. Guns/killing and sex.

Games where you gun down armadas of human looking characters, no problemo. Thousands of them on Steam and everyone is playing them. A game that shows some titties and maybe a beaver? OH MAH GOD, THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!!!!!!111111oneoneoneone, THINK OF THE PURE CHILDREN (who probably hang on PornHub all day long anyway).

Like, how is sexual content considered worse than murder (even if simulated and not really an issue in my book, just pointing out the irony). Make love (and babies) a NO-GO, killing, YES SIR, HERE YOU HAVE IT! I just find it deeply ironic and hilarious.

Group it under games with sexual content and call it a day, who gives a damn.

@wONKEyeYEs

These are school girls as much as all women on PornHub are "teens"... ?

lol yeah saying it looks like a schoolgirl not a child is a bad defense. as most people in school are underage. maybe if they said it looks like a college girl. but pedos will be pedos and try to justify everything they do

What frustrates me most is when an artist says "I included the warning that all the characters depicted are over 18, what's the problem?" Then draws a toddler getting railed by a BBC

I do agree that if there's no link to violent video games causing violence in real life, then there should be no link between lolis in games causing pedophilia in real life, but I think valve doesn't want to be connected in any way to people supplying what is effectively animated child porn.

no its when the people who are being sexualized look underage and are meant to look underage is when its an issue. there are tons of games on steam with nudity or DLC that makes the nudity not censored (and its free DLC not paid just to bypass valves rules) just look up the game house party, its literally a sex simulator and its still on steam with no issues.

I don't think it should be illegal, I separate loli crap from straight pedo as you'd be surprised how common this is for weeb shit, but I also don't think it should be supported on main platforms if they don't want to. It's not real cheese pizza, no one's being hurt, but it's also perfectly normal for valve to be like "this is not ok on our platform". There's a lot of platforms that I don't think should suppress speech/content that's not illegal, but steam is not one of them.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Also children don't have C cups.

Not true, I grew up with some girls that at age 12 had C and D cup breasts. They were envied by many. Unfortunate at the time I saw them like sisters so I didnt care much. *edit to add, and both of my sisters had B cups at 11 or was that 10.. but any how my point is yes girls develop early esp. in Japan were  (as we all know) has a stereotypical over-fascination with sexual figures.

so, you can draw a person who looks like a kid and just add big tits and that makes it not a kid anymore?

also when I was in school even middle school some girls had huge breast for their age. girls hit puberty at age 11-12 sometimes even younger. so yes they can.

no its when the people who are being sexualized look underage and are meant to look underage is when its an issue. there are tons of games on steam with nudity or DLC that makes the nudity not censored (and its free DLC not paid just to bypass valves rules) just look up the game house party, its literally a sex simulator and its still on steam with no issues.

shooting games are murder simulators, and much closer to real at that.

I do agree that if there's no link to violent video games causing violence in real life, then there should be no link between lolis in games causing pedophilia in real life, but I think valve doesn't want to be connected in any way to people supplying what is effectively animated child porn.

This is the crux of the matter, they dont want the rap for this, and they're going to get it either decision they make. If they cave it will be an even bigger problem than it was originally. If  such a large portion of people were not ok having violent video games, they might take the same stance there too.

Eh, that's not entirely the case.

There may be a lot of the weird anime that overdoes the fanservice but there are many true gems that are great and rely on great story and such to make it appealing (and not big tiddies).

Those tend to be my favorites because a lot of the anime that overdoes the fanservice tend to be quite mediocre.

Oh my gosh, THANK GOD for that game!  Finally, we have mainstream proof that visual novels can truly be an art form, and that they can be respectable in such a sense.  Danganronpa would've done the same, but it wasn't/isn't nearly as popular.

I like a lot of anime, even crap anime. Japan's culture is toxic, and the biggest money to be made in the industry is the otaku culture by far.

Sure you get the cowboy bebops every now and then, but they don't push figurines and body pillows the same way that ero manga sensei does.
