Cobb Access Port Questions

So I'm looking to get an Access Port for my 05 WRX. I found one on facebook for $75, but it's married to the previous owners car (06 wrx). Not sure at the moment why (I'm pretty sure a totalled car.

Anyways, does anyone know what models of access port work on what year of car? IMO cobb has done a pretty shit job of explaining this so I can't find much on the subject.

I believe the one he is selling is the AP3-SUB-002, which is what cobb says for the 06 wrx, and it says that the 05 needs the AP3-SUB-001.

Not sure the difference between them

Usually things like this like to be locked to a unique car to prevent you from using it with other cars. Some companies then force you to purchase a new license to use it.

Yeah I looked into it more. I gotta pay cobb some money but it won't be to bad
