Best daily driver under $5000 USD (Car)

Emanbaird

I'm currently driving a 1996 Integra GS-R sedan with 428k miles, while I love the car, it's old worn out and today i tried to open the door after closing my seat-belt in the door, then my door handle broke off, split in two, and now my drivers side door is stuck and i can't get my seat-belt out so effectively my driver's side seat-belt does not work now, i have to get in through the passenger side, it's ticking leaking and it needs a new clutch and this all happened within the span of 3 months.

So TL;DR I need a new car.

I'm in Texas so rust isn't that bad of a problem

MPG is a bonus not a requirement as long as it gets 23+ combined i'm good.

Currently I've been looking at the Lexus LS430 since they ride super smooth and safe.

I am open to ideas, If the car has a standard model available that is a BIG+ i'll keep the Integra, but I'm tired of daily driving something older than me

Thanks in advance!

They may not be very interesting, but a Camry or Accord are hard to beat from the reliability front.

The Lexus LS430 is a nice car, it uses the Toyota UZ engine.

I personally have found Toyota's engines to be the most reliable.

as @Real_PhillBert mentioned, a camry isn't a bad car at all.

Honda Civic.  Old, reliable, boring, used parts a plenty.
