What MHz/CL/timing/KIT RAM for z270 motherboard?

Hi there!

I may purchase a 7700k CPU with an MSI z270 Gaming Pro mobo together, used for less than 385 USD plus a 970 EVO 250GB SSD.

As far as i know there's not a big difference between 2x8 or 4x4 GB of ram for gaming, but what about semi-pro video editing and music production? Programs use ram differently and i don't know witch one has more benefits for a dual-channel motherboard. Can i improve on timings by using 4x4, or just the memory control will have a worse time? What MHz, CL, and timings shoud be enough for this PC and this kind of workload? There are probably not big differences but i Don't want to buy something worse for more money. :/

The PC:

- i7-7700k

- RAM (?)

- MSI z270 Gaming Pro

- Samsung 970 EVO 250 GB SSD

- Other storage/parts that i already have

Thanks in advance!

Get any kit from a reliable brand like Corsair or GSkill that is at least between 2666mhz ~ 3200mhz  CL16 or lower, and instead of using XMP, you try tuning it the best you can manually.

For instance my GSkill Trident Z rated for XMP 3200mhz CL 16 18 18 38 is running overclocked at 3333mhz CL 16 17 17 37 to extract the most out of it.

Dual Channel will be much the same regardless going 2x8 or 4x4
