Picking inexpensive GPU to go with i5-2500k

Recently I found a used rig with an i5-2500k 32gb ddr3 corsare vengence ram, and a z68 extreme3 gen3 motherboard. Its a great find and I am wondering what budget GPU would be best suited for light gaming and running my multi monitor setup.

1050Ti's are finally pretty damn cheap, though depending on what you're doing you may want to step up to something like an RX 570/580 8GB.

1060 or 1070 would be fine. It really depends if you overclock the 2500K or not. At 4.5 GHz, they smart to really keep up fairly well (depends on game title of course). Else, a cheap upgrade would be to find a used 2600K or 2700K. (or 3770K if you want to delid)

Rx 580 all the way, you can pick one up for a good price if you're looking for new. If you care to go used for your gpu then I would suggest a 1060 or 1070.

Depends what you mean by light gaming. A 2500k can handle anything up to a 1060. I wouldn't pair anything faster with it, except maybe at 4k where I'd go up to a 1080. Even at 1440p I wouldn't pair it with a 1070.

 

Now those are the limits. If you're just playing esports games like CSGO, Dota 2, SC2, LoL, even stuff like Rainbow Six Seige, at 1080p then I'd go with a 1050ti. If you're trying to play the latest AAA games at 1080p like Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Black Ops 4, Fallout 76, Assassins Creed Odyssey, then you're going to want a 1060 6gb card. If you're playing those games at 1440p, I'd go with a 1070.
