Daddy Dave
 Share

So I am thinking about buying a used MSI 1080 TI GPU. I cannot tell the difference between the 1070 MS I cannot tell the difference between the cards MSI cards they make.  Does this car look like it is a 1080 Ti I do not want to get scammed

1070 only has 8 pin power, nothing below a 1080Ti takes dual 8 pin.

I/O is consistent with what a Pascal card would have.

Worth noting that the 1080Ti is one of the hardest cards to fake. Even with a different vBIOS and everything, it's pretty hard to make a 1080Ti scam card that actually works as a scam.

The 1070 twin frozr had 8+6 pcie power . This has 8+8 , it's the real deal. Plus , that cooler would be awfully thick for a 1070

if anything, worry about if the card works or not.

Ideally you'd want the seller to show it working when you go pick it up. If it's ebay, you might be able to file a complaint/refund request

i mean if the card doesnt work you can fill a claim to ebay or amazon...this is your first protection they will guide you through a refund process and just in case they argue with you or something (which they pretty much never do BTW) then you can contact Paypal and tell them ebay or amazon is fucking with you...and they will make sure you get your refund.

yes it,s safe to buy used PC parts especially something like a graphics card that came out not too long ago like a 1080ti...MSI cards are top notch and the seller wouldn't put it on ebay or amazon if it wasn't in good working condition...if the price is good and it's worth it to you then i would buy it...

Personally i buy my graphics cards used all the time but i buy them locally because the market around montreal is big and it's easy to find good deals and i hate to wait for shipping ?

I know that the price right now for a 1080 TI used is like 500$ but what are the prices for something like a ROG Strix ( the motherboard I want ) or the CPU I want.
