HP Omen 15 (2018) vs ASUS Scar II?

Zzzzz

Hi. I’m starting second year in university studying media design. I am looking to buy a new laptop. Saw this deal at my local store.

ASUS Scar II

HP Omen 15

The specs are almost identical I think? The only different is the thunderbolt 3 and the 2TB HDD on the Omen. Need help deciding which of the laptop is more value for money.

The HP OMEN 15 and ROG GL504GM have almost identical specs, but the HP one has a G-Sync display and a slightly bigger battery.

@Jurrunio don't you have this laptop? Maybe you can give your thoughts to the OP.

Why just compare specs, there are many things to consider as well

Build wise, I heard horrible QC on GL504, build quality are about the same. Omen 15 dc has slightly better keyboard, slightly better battery life (with 70Wh battery, compared to GL504GM) and has TB3 but has slightly worse display quality (both 144Hz, but different panels), slightly worse audio and slightly worse cooling (still considered 'good')

Only limited to these 2 options?

Desktop specs:

Asrock Challenger Pro OC Radeon RX 6700 XT Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (8Gx2) 3600MHz CL18 Kingston NV2 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD

Montech Century 850W Gold Tecware Nexus Air (Black) ATX Mid Tower

Laptop: Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro 16ACH6

Phone: Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 8+128

Well.... My budget is around $2800SGD and I'm actually studying in New Zealand so global warranty is important. Would like to buy extended warranty which is why I am looking at this store as it has extended warranty that covers both Singapore and new Zealand.

So you're buying in which country? Mind providing some links of online stores?

I'm buying in Singapore as it is cheaper there. And somehow for brands like HP and Asus offers 2 yrs International manufacturer warranty in Singapore instead of 1.

Currently only using this as it has extended warranty that covers both countries.
