rockit 88 for 9900k

I just got my 9900k and I'm going to delid it.  I have a rockit 88 lying around and was hoping to use that for the delid.  I read on their website they cant back it because of the extra force required for the soldered ihs.  The pictures of the 89, the one made for the 9900k looks exactly the same.  I doubt there was a complete overhaul , or even a material change to help the strength of the rockit. 

 

What do you guys think?

Why are you going to delid it..... there is no need to delid the 9900k.. you dont get that much improvement worth the ristk of delid on the soldered chip...

There actually is a huge reason to delid it, if you properly Lap the silicon down a bit and put proper LM/Solder tim the temps are a TON better. Intel fucked the the die up sadly, making it too tall with silicon filler and so the solder doesnt work well enough. But its a TON of work, lapping properly takes HOURS, knowing the grits and such. Mostly out of the question for a simple delid.

Actually Intel can't seem to figure it out and a delid will yield around 6-9C better temps and a lapping will improve about 25C which is insane

Just sold i9 9900k 11/12/18  to a guy for almost retail because he broke his by delidding the die snapped, so I posted add and lucky for him I had 3 trays and one boxed version still. He was just glad to be able to get one so fast.
