Smartphones with stock or near stock Android?

While I don't generally hate MIUI as it's nice to use, has features I need and all that, but they have tons of tiny bugs that they never seem to fix or iron out despite endless reports, I'm starting to look at stock Android offerings. But finding that seems rather difficult.

 

There are Google phones which I generally don't like because they look like toys and were designed by an idiot (that external frosted glass on Pixel 3, wtf), then you have new Nokia phones and OnePlus. They have few tiny things on top but absolute minimum. Any other companies doing the stock or near stock Android?

 

Is there some sort of list of all Android One phones or those that have stock Android otherwise? I mostly hang on GSMArena, but there doesn't seem to be a filter to sort phones this way. Oh, custom flashing is not an option because it's too fiddly and complicated and tends to go bad at one point and I just don't have the nerves to deal with that anymore.

OnePlus-phones are quite close to stock, and Nokia-phones are fully stock, as far as I remember.

Motorola (Lenovo) phones are close to stock Android too (they have some 'Moto apps', but those are not that annoying or whatever..)

Personally I don't think they are really quick with updates though.

Having a Moto G5s+, all off this is 100% correct.

Just got Oreo update couple weeks ago.  

Nice UI on it though. But I did promptly install Nova launcher for notification badges & app drawer folders.

True stock Android is the AOSP(Android open source project) which is like minimum with no add on whatsoever, not even Google play store or Google apps/services. There is no update, no nothing, and to get it to work, you need to Port it yourself and write all the firmware specific to your devices and hardwares because stock do not have them by default.

Don’t you fool yourself into thinking that Stock Android will magically make the bugs go away! 

 

The latest Pixel phones are notoriously buggy but it’s probably better now since a few updates rolled out. 

 

I personally had a pretty good experience with the Moto G but that was years ago. It might of been the G2 or G3. And yeah, the updates were slow or nonexistent. But the phone worked “fine” for the most part.  The Moto G7 should roll out soon. And the specs finally look good with the Snapdragon 660. But I am worried about a price increase. 

 

I don’t know about Nokia. I am kinda curious.

Because then it's just those bugs. With all these aftermarket UI's, you have stock issues plus the ones vendors make. And Xiaomi has quite weird ones. Or they remove features that were cool. Even insignificant ones like weather animation in the notification. Which is now just an empty space. Or auto location detection. Had it for months. And then they broke it one day. And removed it entirely afterwards. Like, wtf.

I remember using my LG Nexus 4 for a year and the software experience was garbage. It was fantastic out of the box and then Kitkat rolled out. I remember having the flashlight and then having no flashlight for months and then the flashlight came back. Most Nexus phones were awful anyways.
