Nintendo Removes Racist Move From Super Smash Bros Ultimate

BGross

https://thenextweb.com/gaming/2018/11/07/nintendo-smash-bros-racism-scandal/?amp=1

Basically Mr. Game and Watch had a move that showed him using a torch while wearing an native American head piece. They have or will be updating the game to exculde this in the future.

Verge of being racist- I think because Nintendo is a family brand, they want to be culturally sensitive.

^^^ It's stereotyping yeah, but not racism. Tfw stereotypes used to be funny and everyone knew they were exaggerations but now I guess people just ran out of other stuff to be offended at and starting picking on humorous stereotypes too? I grew up with the classic Buggs Bunny and such cartoons since they were the ones my dad approved of and they're hilarious, and most of them are just an exaggerated stereotype. That's why they're funny, they're just real enough that they aren't complete foolishness, but then they're so silly that everyone knows no one would really do that, so we laugh at them.

I was watching some old 90's shows like home improvement and even king of the hill and I noticed they made gay jokes more then a few times in home improvement and one episode of king of the hill, all I thought was if this came out this day and age there would be a ton of people raging on twitter over it.

its like its illegal to make jokes anymore.

I was watching a rant from a comedian about how he hates being a comedian now because all there is now is ridicule and offended people.

He said something a long the lines of, if you're coming to MY show to hear MY JOKES than why are you offended? You know what you're getting into when you hear a JOKE. The difference is that back than people know it was exactly that, a joke. Nothing malicious, just for the laughs.

I really want to know what changed, even last year in 2017 it wasn't this bad, there was a big thing recently about how this one girl i forgot the name I think it was a Jenner or kardashian who was in a magazine and had a "black" hairstyle and tons of black people freaked out about it, and the hair was not even a black style it was just a 80's big hair style. they where making comments like why would you have a white girl do that when you can have a black girl who naturally has that hair, while tons of others where like I see nothing wrong with this.

I really think people who do that stuff should be banned from twitter. it just shows how they are racist when they are the ones trying to play a victim on things that don't effect them in the slightest.

FFS it's a stick person...not only that but when did Indians monopolize wearing a feather on their head? Pretty sure people of all races that have birds in their local ecosystem have been doing that forever.

What has changed with regards to your hair comment.

Cultural appreciate seems to have become culture appropriation.. The worst part of it is that people of the race being mimicked don't care, it's others.

Example: I watched a video a White guy wearing a pancho for Cinco de Mayo and walked on UCLA campus. A LOT of people were saying it was offensive...except for the Mexicans. He then proceeded to a Mexican local street market and asked them if it was offensive. They loved it and thanks him for appreciating their culture.

people get offend for others lol, pete Davidson made a comment about how this army vet lost his eye and everyone was outraged but the perosn he made the joke about it said he didnt care but he did agree it was wrong of him to say.

people just need to grow balls, too many people are raised sheltered, I cant image what the kids will be like of all the people who cry about everything. the next few genrtions will either be worse or get some common sense from seeing how stupid their parents are.

A bunch of whiteys were complaining about how racist Speedy Gonzalez was so Warner Brothers took it off air until they got a huge influx of angry letters from Mexicans and others south of the border wondering why the hell they stopped showing the only cartoon that they liked.

"Inclusiveness" is often far more racist. Can't have a Mexican cartoon character because that's racist, so we'll just make sure we only have white characters I guess.

On to Nintendo, I'm glad they're removing the racism, Indians are far too busy drinking and running casinos with federal grant money. They don't have time to go lighting torches.

It's an angry stick person with a feathered cap setting things on fire.....

Anyways, he didn't have the feathered cap in previous games either. I think this story is yet another case of people being outraged about someone supposedly being outraged by something. Who cares if he doesn't have a feathered cap. Did the feathered cap really matter to you that much? I don't think so. The game isn't even out yet and I bet none of us would have even noticed either way if there wasn't an article about this whining about "political correctness gone mad"

Fools think they know everything, experts know they know nothing

i dont... know... soon short people will find lord of the rings offensive... the greeks will find God of War offensive... and i will find black panther offensive because it is enforcing patriarchy on a minority group and does not accurately depict the hardships real Africans go through on a daily basis... Not only that, the main actors in the movie were not even born in Africa and are appropriating a culture alien to them. The fact that only 2 genders where acknowledged in this movie shows the cultural and geopolitical intolerance of the transgender community.... its easy to be offended by anything, especially if you are full of shit... seriously... this is about to be a wicked ride...

I still don't see how the word "midget" is offensive, but "dwarf," essentially being a fictitious fantastical being is the "politically correct" term.
