Question regarding monitors during holiday sales.

I have a question regarding high end monitors during the holiday season. I know TV's get steep discounts, but do monitors? 

 

The monitor I have in question are the ones with these specs

 

144Hz/1ms

G-Sync

27"+

2560x1440

 

I can look at things like the ROG, being priced at $600 USD, or something a little more low profile, but with the same specs. Such as the Dell s27 at $465. 

So anyway, do monitors typically go on sale/get discounted during the holidays? 

 

I haven't needed to upgrade in a while so I legitimately have no clue as to if they get discounted or not.

Most of the time. Depends what you consider a steep discount though. Dell usually gets wicked discounts, I've seen up to $300 off.

I'm confused, 2560x1440 isn't an UltraWide resolution.

I mean, I still use an old dell P190S, their resolution isn't good compared to modern monitors but they still offer a pretty solid gaming experience in 2018. Got mine on discount from my local second hand shop down from £40 to just over £20.

I live about an hour's drive from one, but that's what I'm asking about. Some of these great monitors have decent/good prices. But as I've not paid attention to the holiday sales, ie Black Friday/Cyber Monday, I don't know if they dip any lower. I used PCPP's price track history tool, but I'm not sure if it counts those deals.
