Z370 motherboard with 9th Gen cpu

Hi all! Pretty much I hav bought a whole system apart from a CPU, I have a msi z370 krait gaming mobo and want to buy the i7 9700k cpu. I'm guessing it'll need a BIOS update to support this however will I be able to do it without having an 8th Gen cpu ? If it is possible how do I do it? Thanks in advance for any replies

Why not buy Z390?

well you need to have an 8 th gen cpu for a bios flash. it isn't worth the risk to buy an expensive CPU and that Z370 board doesn't come with latest bios

He already has a z370 board

Try using the PSU Tier List! 

How to reset the bios/clear the cmos

Answering your question, you will probably not be able to update it without an 8th gen cpu.  Find a friend or buy a 8300 then return it after you update it.  It's more convenient to just buy the z390 board and intel knows that, but if you want to save the money and time it would take to sell your current board, then you'll have to get a 8th gen chip somehow.

You can get these for very cheap. You don't need an i3.
