My 6 core CPU is only using 3 cores

I have an AMD FX-6300 6 core processor but it is only using 3 out of the 6 cores (the image below).

Can anybody explain how I can enable all 6 cores on the CPU.

it's normal. FX CPUs are built with 2 cores per cluster and each cluster do not have enough component to make 2 separate cores, a bit like a two-headed snake. Windows sees this and considers it a 3 core 6 thread CPU instead.

You are using 6 cores. Fx processors use 6 cores where each 2 cores share resources, i think. Someone more knowledgeable can explain better. Windows just sees it as 3 physical cores.

it's has and uses 6 cores, it has 4 complexes housing 2 cores each. in your case only 3 complexes are active. (3X2)
