I'm pretty happy with 16:9 as I prefer to run tri-monitors (although I only have one running at the moment due to moving my PC and not having a big enough desk in the new location).

I'm just not that tempted by the ultra "T H I C C" monitors. Maybe I just need to try one and it would change my mind but for some reason they just don't call out to me like other tech products.

I'm going to try out an ultrawide in the new year, more because I don't have the desk space for 2 27" monitors.

I prefer 16:9 but I am looking into a new 34" ultrawide (THICCCC) monitor during Black Friday deals. I plan on split screening most of the time though haha.

I am going to throw a small curve ball and say that I prefer 16:10 or 3:2 for work, which is mostly CAD, calculations and reading documents, but ofc monitors with those ratios are quite rare today. Between 16:9 and 21:9 I will pick 16:9 at least right now, my opinion might change in the future. Right now I use a vertically mounted 16:10 monitor on the side and then a horizontal 16:9 monitor as the main monitor, but I would love to try out a 21:9 monitor for a longer period.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

I am very disappointed with the lack of 5:4 and 4:3... Personally, I use 3 x 5:4 monitors so I get a super ultrawide of 15:4, I am very much using an Ultra T H I C C :)

Really can't see myself with anything larger on the sides than 16:9.

If i'm honest with myself i kind miss the 4:3 aspect ratio, i like vertical screen real estate.

I have two 21:9 monitor, though I intend to get rid of the smaller one (29" 2560x1080P), the other monitor, an Acer XR341CK will now be used exclusively with my RTX 2080 Ti rig. I've ordered and will receive the Samsung 32:9 3840x1080P monitor tomorrow (will be delivered to me as item is too big for me to manage) and since it has Freesync 2 (144Hz) + QLED and HDR, it'd be used with my Crossfire RX VEGA 64's for some Freesync goodness. Will be getting a steering wheel set for some racing goodness......and my vote for aspect ratio is 21:9 (at the very least, can never go back to 16:9 anymore)
