to three or not to three, that is the question...

I was looking at Ryzen 3 series CPUs when I realized, "Hey, can these things even do VR?" so the question arose, to three or not to three? I only have ~$500 to spend on my pc upgrade and when I factored in the GPU, mobo, and RAM it worked out to about 100 smackaroos, so I'm stuck with the 1200, so if I get a VR headset sometime (i dunno when), will i be able to use it out of the box or will I need to upgrade my CPU too? (and I guess it'll help to know the GPU I'm getting is a GTX 1060 so it should play nice with most games)
