How's this for a first build?

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I'm new here so here we go.

I'm new to PC building and would like to get by build checked out by someone who knows what they're doing. I plan to use it for mainly 3D rendering (both CPU- and GPU-based) and music production, but also occasional gaming. How does it look?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700

Mobo: ASUS TUF B450-PLUS GAMING

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2666 2x8gb

Storage: Kingston A400 240gb SSD and Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm

Video card: MSI GTX 1060 6gb OC

PSU: Corsair TX550M 550w 80+ gold

Case: BitFenix Nova

Is this an OK build? How can I improve it without spending much more? (I'm already at the top end of my budget)

Thanks for reading and helping a noob out!

Those components should work great for what you're planning to do with it. Don't quote me on that, as I'm by no means a professional, but from the look of things, you've got yourself a pretty solid build.

That Asus motherboard isn't great. Maybe swap it for something like the MSI Tomahawk which is around the same price.

Also 3000 - 3200 ram should be about the same price.

Winter is Coming.
