It has to be halfway decent for them to develop Distraint 2. That's why they're giving out this first game for free to celebrate the release of Distraint 2 on November 13. According to Steam, it...

  • is emotional
  • is powerful
  • is well-written
  • is a joy to play
  • is eerie
  • is surreal
  • has a chilling atmospheric element that surrounds you
  • is a nightmarish moral tale of heartless greed
  • is very well done
  • is intentionally made with simple designs to keep you focused on the main character and his spiral descent into insanity
  • is a great way to kill a few hours
  • is story-focused psychological horror
  • you could certainly do worse than Distraint

Distraint 2 looks identical to Distraint 1 so there's pretty much no reason whatsoever to ever buy Distraint 2.
