Digital dlc with disc based game

So I'm getting a ps4 pro for Christmas I'm go in to get horizon zero dawn on a disc but get the dlc for ps store becuse it's cheaper will it work?

isnt....that.....how....all.....DLC.....works?????

 

you cant (unless the game dev is a dickhole) have DLC on the Disc, unless you are buying a copy with it preinstalled.  So DLC is addon content downloaded later.... so.... yes, i would think that would be obvious.....DLC stands for Downloadable Content.
