is it worth buying Msi Gtx 1080 Gaming edition X 8g . WAS USED FOR MINING?

Long story short it was used for mining , warranty is still 2 years , the guy said the card power use is limited to 70 % , but it is overclocked.

Price is 350 euros or 400 usd , is it worth buying it ? atm got gtx 1060 3gb that i'm going to sell , since my 144 hz monitor can't keep up with this card.

New card costs where i live - 700 euros.

yeah i think the same that i should grab , he said he's using 6 of them , so right now selling them all so idk :D ,he mentioned card never reached more then 60c

this specific card was selling for 550 euros , but now it's just not in stock , so i just dropped a random gtx 1080 price.

Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem unless it has been flashed to a mining firmware or has been overheating for a long time.

Inno3d ichill Geforce Gtx 1070, 8gb Gddr5

 

instead , it still has 2 years warranty.So it's 100 euros cheaper then the 1080 i just mentioned above.

Wouldn't want that model myself but Id get a mined card of the deal was good. I got some fe versions for cheap and they are fine as any used component would be.

I'd gotten a Leadtek GTX 1080 Hurricane OC for about 320'ish USD, it was clearly used for mining as I went to the seller's house which was filled with mining rigs. The card still had 2.5years of warranty left, and the seller tested the card to POST (dead cards will not POST). Practically no risk and a no brainer for me, it's now in my HTPC rig and doing a nice job of handling 4K (some games can be maxed out, some not, just need to tweak ingame settings a little).

yeah i think the same , if it didn't had warranty i wont be even looking at it , but as i see it has 2 years of warranty why not for less the price ? heh :)

No real arguments again. This card the op is talking about has a warranty. IF the card as you say "burns out" he can replace it. I don't believe that overclocking is beneficial in mining, so I think you are just saying stuff again, without any real arguments.

undervolting and overclocking is a must to gain more hashrate in mining.

Think only had 2 in the past 2 1/2 years burn out, assuming failed cooler being msi crap. That’s out of 300+ cards. If they burn out fast, why wouldn’t all of them do it? 

 

People ruin perfectly good equipment everyday, as posted in here all the time.

so i bought that card, card looks flawless , temperatures are low as it should be , i'm happy with the purchase.Going to do some benchmarks when i get some spare time.

What's "burn out"? You obviously dont know how the components on the GPU work.   They dont "burn out" or wear out themselves. Jesus, there's so many people just saying random bullshit when it comes to used mining cards..
