GTX 1080 Ti almost gone

orbitalbuzzsaw

This HW Unboxed video

[would put a quote here but it's a video sooooo]

GTX 1080 Ti stock is dwindling and almost gone. At Newegg GTX 1080 Tis are going for about $750-$900 if they're available new at all. The most popular models are all gone and the only ones at reasonable prices are Gigabyte Aorus cards.

My thoughts : How disappointing. It was bound to happen but I wish it wasn't so soon.

Ring Ring, AMD called, they want you to save your money :P

Nah jk, the 1080Ti is a good card, and it doesn't need to be RMAed. But I really don't even need the performance of the RX 580 I have now, and I wonder how many other people really don't need that level of performance and buy high end cards anyway.

I'll be honest I only have a 1080ti cause I got a killer deal!

I had a vega 64 before this and it was great for 1080p 144hz games.

EDIT, and I only replaced it due to the fact my Vega blew up...

Turns out decision to grab GTX 1080Ti roughly one and a half year ago was a good decision (basically quite soon after release). New offerings aren't any better and yet they cost like 1/4 more. I've paid like 800€ for it back then, but it was worth it because it'll serve me for quite some time now.

Then there won't be a option for those that want RTX 2080 performance just without RT for cheaper :(

Nvidia trying to force more expensive cards and RTX on people.

(I personally wouldn't buy any of them anyway)

I was one of the early adopters for the 1080 Ti. As soon as the AIBs launched I got one for actual MSRP up here in Canadia. A few months later I could have resold my used 1080 Ti for literally 600 dollars profit above the MSRP I had paid for it not 6 months prior.

Now I guess people will have no choice but to buy the 2080 if they don't want to venture into the zombie infested second hand market full of cards that were mined 24/7 for a year+ and are now in that ambiguous state of still working but for how much longer.

Yes but it is also an amazing card when it works properly. First one was a dud but the second one is going strong and pushing out high fps at 4k.

I pre-ordered my 1080ti before they where released and before price hikes and got my own for a very good price. Its still rocking. No need to even get this Nvidia New Gen Cards.

Bought the Aorus 1080Ti slightly more than a month ago and seeing how nVidia pushes RTX bullshit, I'm glad I got it before it's almost gone.

Yeah, if nVidia wants to sell more 2080Ti's, they should drop the ray tracing bullshit and increase performance.

Micron should get their shit together and fix the damn 2080Ti's failing.

There is a performance gain. Turing has the same or similar performance gain over Pascal that we commonly see with generational changes.

But I'm not gonna pay for the ray tracing features. When 2080 and Ti were released, they were damn expensive and I could buy the Aorus 1080Ti one day for €680 and the RTX were from €999 and up. Easy and fast choice to go for the 1080Ti.

2080  €879 and up

2080Ti €1399

1080Ti  €680

Ti, is out of bounds due to their absurd prices. Non-Ti, well, ray tracing is nothing but a gimmick and that one gets out too. So it's the 1080Ti.

More like RTX4080Ti or even RTX5080Ti. Yep, then I'll upgrade. Or wait till RTX7080Ti.

I'm not joking ?

If 1080ti are going up in price and availability is bad, just get a 2080 and be done with it. It has better performance than the 1080ti the only downside is less vram. The price is the same as the 1080ti retail price, if you get one of the 699 variants of the 2080 that is.

I mean this isn't a crisis and the 2080 is a good card regardless on whether or not ray tracing takes off.
