Why is some 3200 memory cheaper than 3000 memory?

Go to solution Solved by Shimejii,

Availability, Stock, and Just what is currently in bulk.

I noticed that with several models of different memory that are the same module except for the speed, 3200 and 3000
why is that?....shouldn't faster memory be more expensive?
(yes i'm aware this question is probably stupid and/or unimportant)

the best example is a set of ddr3000 cl14 b-die 2x16gb i saw on newegg, that kit will naturally cost more than a kit of ddr3200 hynix cl16, other than that, brand supply matters if all else equal.
