How do you minimise the heat generated by a gaming rig?

OttoVonBismarck

So i'm aware that it doesn't matter how great you make your PC's cooling setup, all it does is cool the parts and push that generated heat out into the room. Summer in Australia is coming up and the temperatures here can be absolutely brutal at times - which is really bad in my PC room where it doesn't take long under load at all to begin heating the room

How do i make it less miserable to put up with a rig pumping heat into the room on a 40 degree day?

Dont game as much.

lock your frame rate can decrease GPU load and thus heat

turn of PC when not in use

buy more power efficent components (IE of you are using a Radeon 295X2 get something more modern)

get an air conditioner.

You can try undervolting, and or underclocking, your mileage may vary.

Or go the linus route and put PC in another room.

To make things run efficiently

undervolt

no overclocking

AMD graphics cards even need an underclock

drop the graphics settings as low as possible

cap the frame rate

use new parts

Get a 75ft HDMI cable with wireless peripherals and put your PC in another room.
