Is your PC safe enough from theft?

I've locked my computer to my desk using a kensington lock.

Even assuming they take the time to break the cable (if they came in with the tools to do so... this ain't a bike theft, surely they wouldn't... right?) all my data will be safe, because all my drives are encrypted with AES 256(bitlocker) and the decryption key in on me at all time.

(And no, they can't just take the desk with the computer, they'd have to disassemble it to go through the door)

 

That and we have home insurance, which cover things like theft. 

 

For my next PC, I'm considering getting a small horizontal case and just bolt it underneath my desk... Or onto the wall with a mount or something. But thinking how much of a pain in the ass it'd be if/when I'll have to do any sort of troubleshooting... I just don't feel like doing so.

i have done exactly nothing for this simply because if someone breaks in they gonna steal it anyways, my important data is backed up to the cloud and since there is nothing on this PC that someone could use in terms of information i dont care about encrypting my drives.

veracrypt on all external drives

supervisor password on all laptops (required to get into bios, to boot up laptop at all)

tpm + tamper protection
