1600x to 2600x worth it?

In have a high oc 4.2ghz 1600x would it be worth to get a 2600x? Will I see much if a performance difference considering the price?

Regardless I'm going to bring getting a R7 2700x this black Friday but I was wondering hypotheticaly

CPU:R9 3900x@4.5Ghz RAM:Vengeance Pro LPX @ 3200mhz MOBO:MSI Tomohawk B350 GPU:PNY GTX 1080 XLR8

DRIVES:500GB Samsung 970 Pro + Patriot Blast 480GB x2 + 12tb RAID10 NAS

MONITORS:Pixio PX329 32inch 1440p 165hz, LG 34UM68-p 1080p 75hz

For the price, not really. Think Zen+ has 3?% ipc boost over zen, so that doesn’t really translate to much performance, but 14 to 12nm does a little. Still not worth spending ~$200.

They also can hit about 200Mhz higher on top of the IPC boost as well. Still probably not worth it though.

AMD has an event next Tuesday where they will discuss the upcoming Zen 2 architecture. Zen 2 is going to be on a 7nm process and will offer (supposedly) and substantial increase in IPC. I would wait for that instead.

I am very impatient so if I see a 2700x on sale I may have to grab it but I'll definitely wait until after the events
