I have to plug both VGA and HDMI at the same time!

Dlaziz

Why can’t I display my pc via VGA alone ? This is the craziest thing ever, I have to plug in HDMI AND VGA so that I can see my pc, if I plugged only one of them, it will NOT show on any source, I tried a laptop and it’s working great on the monitor via HDMI alone, but not my pc! it seems this problem came suddenly while I was trying different/multiple monitors, but I reset everything I did, or so I think.

All drivers are updated, windows 8.1 64.  I’m really losing my mind, one last thing, whenever I turn off the pc, connect it to the tv via hdmi alone, then turn it on again, I can see the windows symbol for maybe 5 seconds and then it’s the no signal all over again.

Thank you

First of all I would begin with re-seating everything into its' position.

Also, by any chance did you see if this problem occured after a driver update or something? If yes you could try a downgrade or an upgrade of the driver.

If this still happens, I'd suggest you try to take the GPU off and then try plugging the monitors in the VGA/HDMI of the motherboard. (in this way you'll see if the GPU is faulty)
