PC not booting after installing RGB LED Strip

I plugged the strip into a sata power cable and the pc stopped booting. I can see a red light and blue light turn on for a few seconds on the mobo and the cpu heat sink fans start up for a moment. Any solitions?

I also took out the strip and checked the boot drive to make sure no cables came loose

Make sure not to double post, and bump your old topic by commenting on it instead of making a new one.

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

So all you did was add an RGB strip that connects only to the SATA power cable and now it wont boot?

 

Id guess you knocked something loose.

 

Could a static discharge do this if he touched something he shouldn't?

Your PC is trying to tell yuo to get rid of the gawdy RGB'ness :P

oh yeah i figured out what happened, it killed my psu. it probablu short circuted or something idk
