forget 240mm AIO. I have the h100i v2. If I could go back in time, I would go with a noctua d15. performance is similar and less noise for the air.

look into the kraken series, the h100i (v2), h110i or h150i

asus coolers are overpriced.

I'm a big fan of beefy air coolers

I would love the Noctua D15 but my case only has 160mm height clearance and the D15 is 160mm without fan and with fan it's 165mm.  There is a black version coming out soon hope its 160mm with fan.

A lot of aios use the same pump so pick out the biggest rad size you can run and use a known brand. But to me that amd cpu don't run that hot or can overclock a lot so a good air cooler might be cheaper option.

The NH-D15S is slightly shorter (160mm vs 165mm), in addition you can mount the fan lower in the middle (on both versions) than u can on the sides (due to RAM)

in terms of performance the D15 and D15S are almost identical.

The pic below is the D15, but its there to show u fan placment.

The heatsink is the same size at 160mm tall. The NH-D15S is just offset from the ram and pcie slots and ships with 1 fan instead of 2. The NH-D15 spec uses their default fan position that leaves 32mm underneath the front fan instead of having the fans recessed below the top of the heatsink.

@vjizzle2384 What case and ram are you using? Where are you shopping / located? Budget?

yes!!! another soul saved! I want to start a no AIO movement until companies get their crap together. I feel like I've been ripped off on so many levels.

240 AIO vs D15

D15 is cheaper

D15 arguable cools better in the long run

D15 has less points a failure (my h100i v2 is releasing white powders now, but for some odd reason, I can't  locate the leakage)

D15 is quieter

Nuff said.

D15 will be it once the black version comes out in dec or 2019. I'll use my 212 Evo till it comes out .  My gaming CPU temps are 68c the highest it ever gone and 50 to 65c highest in Gtx 1080.
